CELPIP practice test

CELPIP practice test online.
Scored in about 5 seconds.

All four sections, on the official clock. You get a CLB range, four dimension scores and, in Writing, your own sentences marked with the fix.

Three scored sessions free for the life of the device. No card, no account.

Screenshot of the app's Writing score report: the second of the things to fix first, then the candidate's own email under the heading Your answer, marked, with the mistakes struck through in red and the corrections underlined in green.

What the report shows

The anatomy of a report

Screenshot of the top of a Writing report in the app: an estimated level of CLB 8–10, described as an open band, not a single level, drawn on a scale from 4 to 12, and four dimension scores, each 4 out of 5, with Content & coherence marked Focus.

A band, and above CLB 9 nothing else

Above CLB 9 it draws the likely range and no point estimate. The measurement that forced that is below.

Four dimensions, the weakest one named

Content & coherence, Vocabulary, Task fulfillment, and Listenability or Readability. The weakest row is named in words, not only coloured.

Calibration

How accurate the scoring is, including where it is not

Screenshot of the app's Scoring accuracy screen: Speaking landed within one band 87% of the time at CLB 3 to 8 but only 43% of the time at CLB 9 and above, over 110 scored runs; Writing 95% at CLB 3 to 8 over 108 runs.

Where we get it wrong

The top of the scale. Speaking lands within one band 87% of the time at CLB 3–8 and 43% at CLB 9 and above, over 110 scored calls. So no report prints a bare number above CLB 9.

No upper-band Writing figure. Its 95% covers CLB 3–8 only.

An estimate either way. We do not issue official scores.

Questions people ask

Is the AI score reliable?

It depends on where you sit, and we publish both halves of that. Measured in August 2026 against officially rated samples: Speaking lands within one band of the official level 87% of the time in the core band (official CLB 3–8, 70 calls) and 43% of the time at official CLB 9 and above (17 of 40 calls). Across all levels together it is 71% of 110 calls. Writing is 95% in the core band across 108 calls.

So: dependable for most candidates, weak at the top. That is why every estimate above CLB 9 is shown as a range and never as a single number.

Is this the official CELPIP test?

No. This is an independent practice tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Paragon Testing Enterprises, Prometric, IRCC or the Government of Canada, and it does not issue official scores. Only Paragon can tell you your CELPIP level.

What do I get without paying?

Three scored sessions for the lifetime of the device, with no card and no account required. Reading and Listening section practice is free as well and does not spend one of those three sessions.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Every plan renews automatically until you cancel, and the card says so before you buy. You cancel in your own store account: subscriptions bought on Android in your Google Play account, subscriptions bought on iPhone or iPad in your Apple account. The app has a button that opens that screen directly.

Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the period you already paid for running to its end.

Why does the report show a range instead of one CLB number?

Because at CLB 9 and above our measured accuracy is 43%, and printing a single number there would claim a precision we do not have. Below that line the report still shows the range next to the estimate, so you can see how wide the tool thinks the answer is.

How long does the score take?

About five seconds from submitting an answer to a full report. Official CELPIP results take 2 to 4 business days. The two are not the same thing: ours is an estimate you can act on today, theirs is the score that counts.

Are there ads or trackers?

No adverts, and nothing that follows you to other sites. There is one measurement tool — Google Analytics — and it runs only if you accept it when asked. It records which pages were opened, never who you are: there is no account here to attach a name to. Decline and no analytics cookie is set at all. The fonts are still served from this domain rather than a font CDN.
