5 Your younger brother has saved two thousand dollars. He wants to buy a used car now, but he will also need money for a college course next year. Advise him about the money, and explain why.

What the question is asking for
One sum of money with two claims on it. You are asked to choose between them and defend the choice, out loud, to your brother.
What to settle in the 30 seconds
Name the car or the course in the first sentence, then say what going the other way would cost him.
Where this one goes wrong
Splitting the difference. “He could do a bit of both” with two thousand dollars and no numbers sounds fair and decides nothing.
