A licence that stops counting next month — CELPIP Speaking Task 1
One of the 24 questions in the Task 1 pool — 30 seconds to prepare, 90 seconds to speak, no second take. What the section is: the CELPIP test format.
24 Your sister-in-law is still driving on the licence she brought with her, and it stops being accepted next month. She has not booked the road test because she is sure she will pass it without practising first. Give her advice, and explain your reasons.
Speaking to: your sister-in-law
What the question is asking for
Two things: the test she has not booked, and her belief that she will pass it without practising. Both are in the prompt and both are askable.
What to settle in the 30 seconds
Deal with the booking first and the practice second, and know what you will say happens if the date goes past.
Where this one goes wrong
Only telling her to practise. The date is the harder half, and an answer that never touches it leaves the task half done.
