A sister with no family doctor — CELPIP Speaking Task 1
One of the 24 questions in the Task 1 pool — 30 seconds to prepare, 90 seconds to speak, no second take. What the section is: the CELPIP test format.
13 Your sister has lived here for a year and still has no family doctor. She goes to a walk-in clinic every time something is wrong, and she has not put her name on the waiting list because the wait is long. Give her advice about this, and explain your reasons.
Speaking to: your sister
What the question is asking for
Two things at once: the walk-in habit, and a list she has not put her name on. An answer that handles only one of them is half done.
What to settle in the 30 seconds
Decide what she does this week, and be ready to say why a long wait is a reason to start now rather than a reason to skip it.
Where this one goes wrong
Complaining about the health system. She asked what to do; commentary spends your seconds without giving her a step.
